An implication of this approach was that disagreements tended to be broadly "paradigmatic" in the sense that they were based on all-or-none commitments; one could not, of course, talk about a synthesis of realist and idealist worldviews. Lewis, Saul Kripke, the Frege-Russell analysis of quantification, Russell’s attempt to eliminate sets with his “no class theory,” and the Quine-Carnap dispute over meaning and ontology. Accommodation can enable speakers and hearers to build unjust norms and distributions of authority, sexual subordination, and racial hatred.
